Eden Autism is looking to hire a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our clinical team in support of our Adult Day and Residential programs. This position works collaboratively with our clinical, administrative, and program staff to provide a positive environment for our participants to thrive and enjoy adult life.
Job Description
- Provide clinical leadership for Eden's adult participants, ensuring compliance with state agency regulations and fidelity to Eden best practice standards through training and mentoring of the Adult Services program staff.
- Assist in the creation of learning environments that are supportive of participant needs, using evidence-based practices for intervention purposes.
- Provide compassionate care; accord others with dignity; accept responsibility for all work.
- Serve as a model for clinical intervention provision that emphasizes positive practices and limits the use of restraint.
- Establish an expectation of clinical accountability, transparency, integrity, and effectiveness to all staff and families.
- Motivate and inspire confidence in subordinate staff.
- Work as a collaborative team member. Maintain high visibility; develop workable and reliable data collection approaches; provide effective staff training and professional development; provide timely performance feedback to staff.
- Model, facilitate, and encourage ongoing, collegial communications between and among Program and Clinical staff.
- Consult with Adult Services staff regarding any behavioral issues in the program, other learning environments, or transportation vans.
- Provide direct support in the program through presence on the floor and working with participants.
- Observe in all programs and learning environments and provide performance feedback based upon results of observations.
- Attend monthly staffing meetings to provide leadership, direction, and specialized trainings as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree in related field.
- Certificates/Registrations: Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA) with no sanctions or disciplinary actions.
- Experience: Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods of time (up to 30 minutes) during the workday. Ability to pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certification, including implementation of all strategies and techniques.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge
- Expertise with Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Proficiency with development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of behavior observation systems and data analysis.
- Ability to implement physical techniques including personal control, crisis, and restrictive procedures as trained; may be required to provide physical assistance and/or prompting to an individual.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to make recommendations for effective and efficient solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as presentation skills.
- Deadline-driven and results-focused. Ability to multi-task; well organized and detail-oriented.
