Job Description

• Analyzes and interprets cellular changes caused by disease processes.
• Prepares cell samples for microscopic examination by making smears of cell samples and staining the slides.
• Performs a microscopic examination of the slides to detect cellular change and prepares initial findings.
• Routes preliminary findings to Pathologist for final diagnosis of disease.
• This is an enterprise position. Will be expected, as needed, to accept work assignments across departments or El Camino Hospital campuses (Mountain View and Los Gatos) or locations within a 15-mile radius.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years University and above course work.
• Completion of Cytology curriculum in an ASCP approved School of Cytotechnology.
• Valid State of California license for cytotechnologists.
• Five (5) years experience as a cytotechnologist.
• Successful completion of CLIA '88 Proficiency Testing.

Benefits

• Salary range: $69.33 - $90.34 USD hourly.

Physical Requirements

• Light work - walking or standing up to 49% of shift, duties require standard movement, may occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
