    Location: Duluth, MN

    Job Description:

    • Utilizing advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant works independently and in collaboration with Physicians and other healthcare professionals (3 Physicians, 6 APPs, and 9 additional staff members).
    • Requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
    • Provides a collegial working environment to ensure patients receive the best possible care with a "patient first attitude".
    • Robust, full-service neurosurgical practice with a team-based approach to patient care.

    Schedule:

    • Estimated Patients Seen per day: 12-14
    • Estimated Procedures per day: 0
    • Base Schedule: Monday - Thursday or Monday - Friday 0700 - 1600 plus shared call/weekends/holidays
    • Call Ratio/Schedule Details: Days with variable 24-hour call responsibility - alternating Hospital Floor Call (approximately 5 days per month).
    • Clinic Work: 70% - Includes collaborative appointments with physicians, an independent schedule of patients, surgical consults, non-surgical consults, post-op follow-up, and non-surgical trauma patients.
    • Hospital Work: 30%

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Must have the ability to work independently.
    • Clinical and surgical experience highly desired.

    Education:

    • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

    Licensure/Certifications Required:

    • Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota
    • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota
    • Current certification in CPR
    • National certification in applicable area
    • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
