    Psychiatric Associate

    Looking to work in a role that will make a difference in the community? MHealth Fairview Health Services is looking for a Psychiatric Associate to join our outstanding Adult Inpatient Mental Health unit! Unit 20 has a mix of many challenging patients, including those who are anxious or depressed and at risk for self-harm or suicide, as well as those who have thought disorders and struggle with managing their lives in the community. Some patients have co-occurring medical issues that broaden the experience. Station 20 is one of our teaching units, and RNs and PAs will work with resident doctors and medical students. Team meetings on teaching units are very informative and participatory.

    The starting base rate of pay for the position is $24.27. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay. The shift differential for the night shift is $3.00. This role is approved for 64 hours every two weeks on the night shift, working 8-hour shifts and every other weekend with a variable schedule. This position is benefit eligible.     Job Description

    • Responsible for the delivery of patient care and promotion of a therapeutic environment as delegated by and under the supervision of the RN.
    • Maintain safety of patient and staff by conducting safety checks of patients through visual observation and documentation.
    • Conduct room, belonging, and unit searches.
    • Respond and participate in de-escalation of patients, including physical intervention as trained.
    • Actively participate in milieu management with treatment team collaboration.
    • Perform basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of signs/symptoms of diagnoses and interventions.
    • Conduct informative programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan.
    • Respond to emergency situations as trained per policy.
    • Participate in the treatment team's mission, goals, and plans.
    • Act as a member of the multi-disciplinary therapeutic team.
    • Exhibit verbal communication in a timely, detailed, and professional manner.
    • Possess knowledge of current issues, changes, and updates in Behavioral Services policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Basic Life Support Certification

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field
    • Experience working in the mental health field

    Compensation

    • $24.27 - $33.12 / Hourly
