LPN Full Time Nights

Job Description

• The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse works under the direction of a qualified professional nurse.
• Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care within the objectives, standards, and policies of the department.
• Communicates and works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, administration, clinicians, dietitians, and milieu personnel.
• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of clients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Assists in relevant health and psychiatric teaching for clients and families.
• Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Effectively communicates with medical staff, receives verbal/written orders, and minimizes errors.
• Prepares, administers, controls, and accurately records medications in accordance with policy.
• Observes, documents, and communicates any clinical or personnel issues that could alter client care.
• Safely and accurately performs vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring.
• Provides coverage in emergency services as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing Program required.
• One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Valid current practical/vocational nursing license from the state or from a nurse compact state, where applicable.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
