Job Description
- Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
- Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
- Manage and treat specific skin disorders
- Coordinate weekly skin rounds
- Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation and inspection
- Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
- Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
- Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning, and positioning
- Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel
- Order and track the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
- Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, regulatory guidelines, and the policies and goals of this facility
- Provide information to residents and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
- Participate in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committee
- Participate in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facility
- Abide by the standards identified in FutureCare's Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan
Requirements
- Must hold an active RN license issued in the state of Maryland
- At least 1 year of nursing experience required
- Must possess an active certification in wound care
- Experience with resident's skin care working in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Proven leadership skills to assure smooth unit/area operations and quality resident care
- Effective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interaction
- Ability to interact with others in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner
Benefits
- Competitive starting salary $43.00-$48.00/HR
- Sign-on bonus $7,500 for full-time hires
