Registered Nurse - Infection Control (Infection Preventionist)
Generations at Rock Island has an opening for a Registered Nurse - Infection Control (Infection Preventionist). This is a salaried position. Our current IP nurse has been promoted, so we are in need of a new IP nurse as soon as possible!
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience and expertise in creating and managing an effective Infection Control program in our facility. CDC Infection Control Certification is required and would need to be completed prior to hire. (This is a free 20-hour online course offered by CMS/CDC.)
This is a salaried position with a range of $80-89k depending on RN, IP certification, and experience.
You will be part of the on-call rotation one week a month. Weekday hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Job Description
- Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
- Establish the documentation format for all Infection Control reporting
- Establish specific policies and procedures for Infection Control as it relates to nursing, maintenance, laundry, dietary, rehabilitation, and ancillary services
- Monitor the documentation of incidents of infection and file for reporting and analysis
- Address patterns or trends in the incidents of infection with appropriate follow-up and corrective action
- Supervise the performance of the corrective procedures by designated departments or individual staff
- Establish the objectives of Infection Control education and provide training and in-services to facilitate their attainment
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident information
- Work as Supervisor as part of Department head monthly rotation

Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois
- Skilled nursing facility infection prevention experience
- Infection Control Certification required, or willingness to take the course
- Must have working knowledge of general nursing and geriatric nursing
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, HFS regulations
- Compassion, tolerance, and understanding of older adults
