    Job Description

    • Responsible for resident services and other duties assigned, performing duties with other staff and volunteers as appropriate.
    • Duties include medication assistance/administration, nursing services, dining services, and others as needed for resident well-being.
    • Supervises nursing care to residents.
    • Complies with state and federal regulations.
    • Works collaboratively with members of the healthcare team.
    • Maintains standards of professional nursing practice.
    • Provides back-up to the Director of Nursing when needed.
    • Reviews assignments with the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
    • Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences, and communicates them appropriately to the Director of Nursing and/or Resident Care Manager.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work safety, and other emergency procedures.
    • Notifies physician, RN, and/or designated agent(s) of resident status/change as appropriate.
    • Receives and executes written and verbal orders from the physician or designated agent, as permitted by state regulations.

    Requirements

    • Must possess a current LVN license in good standing.
    • Must have at least 1 year of experience in healthcare.
    • Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
