Job Description:
- Provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.
- Facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and development of collegial relationships among all team members.
- Promotes a climate for effective performance while allocating resources efficiently for quality nursing/patient care.
- Contributes to strategic planning processes, day-to-day operations, and attainment of organizational and departmental goals.
- Responsible for management and administrative functions of the Department, including resolution of coverage and scheduling issues.
- Accountable for management of patient care, human, fiscal, regulatory compliance, and usage of material resources.
Experience:
- Five years of nursing experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in specialty and/or leadership preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Focuses on performance improvement, setting goals in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Establishes interdisciplinary work teams to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Facilitates Unit Council and staff meetings, meeting regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates and enforces compliance with hospital, State, and Federal guidelines.
- Remains fiscally responsible and integrates clinical, financial, and operational data.
- Strives to attain exceptional patient/customer satisfaction.
