    Job Description

    • Provide assistance to Physicians, other Radiology Technicians, and Registered Nurses in the performance of more complex procedures.
    • Coordinate the daily activities within the Interventional Radiology Department.
    • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with approved technique and the ALARA limits.
    • Position the patient on the examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by the physician.
    • Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in a teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide.
    • Explain procedures to the patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
    • Under the direction of a Radiologist or Vascular Surgeon, perform all Interventional procedures on all patient populations.
    • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment by using aseptic techniques, drapes, equipment, and solutions while assisting the interventional radiologist.
    • Practice established principles of radiation safety and protection.
    • Demonstrate appropriate and effective use of all radiographic equipment and computer systems such as RIS, PACS, and other hospital-based computer or PC systems.
    • Utilize time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiency.
    • Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Two (2) years of experience as a Radiology Technician.
    • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
    • NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT, and BLS certifications.

    Preferred Requirements

    • At least two (2) years experience in Interventional or Cath lab.
