    Locum Tenens Interventional Cardiologist

    Job Description

    Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in a well-equipped cardiac cath lab.
    • Evaluate and manage patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions.
    • Collaborate with referring physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
    • Interpret diagnostic test results and provide clear and concise communication with patients and families.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in interventional cardiology.

    Requirements

    • Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty certification in Interventional Cardiology.
    • Valid Virginia state medical license (temporary privileges available).
    • Minimum two years of experience in a hospital setting performing interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
    • Strong clinical skills, sound medical judgment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

    Schedule Details

    • Two weeks per month, with the potential to extend on a rolling basis.
    • Shift hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (no call).
    • The first week will primarily focus on working in the cardiac cath lab and seeing consults on the units.
    • The second week may involve a split schedule, with half the day dedicated to cath lab procedures and the other half dedicated to seeing patients in the office.

    Facility Details

    • Inpatient setting with a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab equipped with GE Cath Unit, IVUS, Balloon Pump, TEE, Stress Echo, Thoracic Echo, and Nuclear Medicine Stress capabilities.
    • Athena and Meditech electronic medical record systems utilized.
