    General Medicine Physician

    We are seeking a General Medicine Physician to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans near Columbus, MS. This is an excellent opportunity to assist our nation's veterans while enjoying a flexible, PRN-based schedule. The need is ongoing, and physicians with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine are encouraged to apply.     Job Description

    • Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams:
      • Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams and separation health assessments for veterans.
      • Exams are primarily interview-based, supplemented by physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength evaluations.
      • No treatment or prescribing required.
    • Coverage options:
      • Option 1: Travel to a designated leased facility to conduct exams.
      • Option 2: Schedule and perform exams within your own practice.
      • Choose between half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) based on your availability.

    Requirements

    • Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in:
      • Musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.
      • METs testing and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
      • Experience with goniometer use for physical assessments.
    • Certification requirements:
      • Board Certified physician.
      • Active and unrestricted license to practice in Mississippi.
      • Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). Note that DMA certification costs and training are not reimbursed.
