    General Medicine Physician

    We are seeking a General Medicine Physician to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans near Rapid City, SD. This is a locum tenens position on a PRN basis, with a need for ongoing coverage. Physicians with experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine are welcome to apply.     Job Description

    • Conduct one-time, non-treatment C&P exams:
      • Perform interview-based assessments with some physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
      • No prescribing or treatment required.
    • Two coverage options available:
      • Option 1: Travel to a designated facility to perform exams.
      • Option 2: Schedule veterans for exams within your own practice.
    • Flexible scheduling:
      • Option to work half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) based on your availability and preference.

    Requirements

    • Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or General Medicine.
    • Proficiency in:
      • Use of goniometer for physical assessments.
      • Managing musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.
      • METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
    • Certification requirements:
      • Board certified physician.
      • Active and unrestricted license to practice in South Dakota.
      • Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). Please note that certification costs and training are not reimbursed.
