Hematology/Oncology Physician
A fantastic locum tenens position is available for an experienced and board-certified or board-eligible Hematology/Oncology Physician in Washington State, located near Granger. Job Description
- Location: Near Granger, Washington
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (with potential for ongoing coverage)
- Specialty: Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology
- Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient care required
- Start Date: Immediate availability preferred
- End Date: Ongoing coverage
- Coverage Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Call Requirements: Overnight call for clinic patients only, with hospitalist support for primary call coverage
Practice Highlights
- Patients Per Shift: Approximately 15
- Census Details: Average daily patient census is around 5; majority of cases involve solid tumors, with a focus on oncology (60%) and hematology (40%)
- Conditions Treated: Primarily solid tumor cases; occasional lymphoma, but no leukemia or bone marrow transplant (BMT) required
- EMR System: Epic/Beacon (chemo ordered via treatment plans); experience with this system is a plus
- Support Staff: Includes a well-rounded team of Medical Assistants (MAs) and Registered Nurses (RNs)
Requirements
- Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology/Oncology
- Certifications: ACLS, ABLS, and BLS certifications required
- License: Washington State licensure or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) accepted
- Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated at 60-90 days, with expedited privileges available for clean history candidates
Additional Information
- Holiday Coverage: Includes standard holidays like New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
- Privileges: Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are not available
- Supervision Requirements: Physician may need to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) when necessary
- On-Call Response Time: 30-minute call response time required
