Are you a dedicated and experienced General Surgeon seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in a growing community near Havana, AR? We're actively searching for a skilled physician to join our team and provide vital surgical support on a call-only basis (ASAP - Ongoing).
This locum tenens position offers a temporary assignment with defined dates, allowing you to contribute to exceptional patient care while managing your workload effectively.
Job Description
- Utilize your expertise in general surgery to support patient care within our 80-bed medical-surgical unit (total facility bed count: 163). You'll collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure timely and high-quality care for patients requiring admissions and postoperative management.
- Provide 24-hour call coverage, with 10 hours categorized as restricted call (callback paid only if responding to the facility) and 14 hours of unrestricted call. This focused schedule allows for predictable periods of on-site availability.
- Partner with other physicians, nurses, surgical technicians, and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care for your patients.
- Utilize the Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) system to enhance efficiency in documentation and communication.
Requirements
- Board-eligible or board-certified in General Surgery is required. Fellowship training is preferred.
- Active medical license in Arkansas (AR) only is mandatory.
- Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and BLS are essential.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an inpatient general surgery setting is preferred.
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- A commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality, patient-centered care.
