Physician I - Part Time

The El Paso State Supported Living Center (SSLC) is seeking a Physician to join an interdisciplinary team of professionals to provide clinical care to residents of the SSLC. As a State Supported Living Physician, you will work at the SSLC campus with a dynamic group of staff and professionals who are dedicated to providing supports and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a team environment where staff clinicians collaborate to provide comprehensive care and services.

Job Description

• Responsible for the effective delivery of high-quality medical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities served by HHSC State Supported Living Centers.
• Work involves direct delivery of clinical practices and monitoring of medical services.
• Participate in treatment team processes, advocating for the medical needs of individuals served.
• Collaborate with individuals' families, Family Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and consultants and community medical providers in other medical specialty areas.
• Reports directly to the Medical Director of the State Supported Living Center and works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Provides treatment to HHS employees injured in the course and scope of employment.
