Speech Language Pathologist
Heritage Rehab is seeking a consistent PRN or Part-Time (10-20 hrs/week) SLP to join our in-house therapy department at our Logan facility. Our Part-Time position offers PTO accrual.
Our 135-bed facility in Logan is nestled in the picturesque scenery near Lake Logan State Park and is conveniently located off Route 33 between Lancaster and Athens.
Heritage Rehab provides high-quality physical, occupational, and speech therapies and rehabilitation. We strive to help patients reach their maximum potential so they can live as independently as possible. Our experienced therapists work closely with patients and their caregivers to build customized rehabilitation programs tailored to each individual's needs.
Job Description
- Assign patient care activities to professional and non-professional personnel.
- Interpret responsibilities and SNF policies to therapy personnel.
- Assure the execution of doctor's orders.
- Oversee the maintenance of therapy records (medical, personnel, accounting, billing, etc.).
- Evaluate and treat communication disorders, including motor speech disorders, language disorders, cognitive language deficits, and voice disorders.
- Provide direct patient services to improve the cognitive, communicative, and/or swallowing abilities of neurologically impaired persons.
- Evaluate, treat, and provide case management for dysphagic patients.
- Provide documentation to maintain quality of the medical records, as it relates to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy of billing information, and facility requirements.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes and adhere to professional standards of practice.
- Follow administrative policies and procedures related to emergency procedures, infection control, and safety.
- Coordinate and/or participate in training programs for facility staff, residents, families, and rehabilitation staff.
- Initiate new program development with a focus on functional outcomes to improve the quality of life of the people residing in the facility.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid license to practice in Ohio.
