    Nuclear Medicine Technician

    Job Description

    • Under the general supervision of the Imaging Supervisor, perform nuclear medicine procedures, schedule procedures, initiate new procedures, transport patients, handle telephone calls for scheduling patients, and answer questions related to reports of exams.
    • Handle patient support equipment, such as IV pumps and oxygen.
    • Clean rooms and equipment, order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures, and administer basic CPR.
    • Help the supervisor in the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine department.
    • Must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology/nuclear medicine and/or be registered or registry eligible.
    • Possess knowledge and understanding of regulatory mandates for quality control and adhere to all DEQ regulations.
    • Maintain a high standard of imaging.
    • Have a thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, anatomy, and positioning essential for quality exams.
    • Handle multiple demands simultaneously while maintaining a helpful attitude toward patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
    • Coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
    • Assist in moving patients when needed.
    • Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
    • Assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department.
    • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.

    Requirements

    • Vocational/Technical education
    • CNMT upon hire
    • BLS upon hire
    • Nuclear Medicine Training

    Preferred Requirements

    • 1 year of experience
