Job Description

• Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager
• Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, passing meal trays, delivering hygiene care, and answering inquiries within the scope of practice
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to the appropriate room, giving initial instructions, assisting in transporting discharged patients, and answering inquiries within the scope of practice
• May act as the unit's receptionist, assign patients to rooms on the board, alert nursing staff to patient arrivals, pull and prepare charts, order and monitor utilization of selected supplies, assist with stocking supplies needed in the unit, and help keep the nursing stations clean and organized

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support Certified

Preferred Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school
