Join our team at Hoke Hospital in Raeford, North Carolina, where we are dedicated to providing exceptional care in our Sleep Center. This position offers the opportunity to work nights in a supportive environment.
Job Description
- Perform electrodiagnostic testing, including nocturnal polysomnography (NPSG), CPAP evaluations, NPSG scoring, and electroencephalograms (EEGs) when necessary.
- Clean and maintain department equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate with physicians and hospital staff concerning tests or testing procedures performed in the Neurodiagnostic Department.
Requirements
- 1 year's previous training and experience in sleep medicine required.
- Must have an understanding of medical terminology and current EEG and sleep medicine procedures.
- Ability to react calmly and maintain composure in stressful situations and when dealing with co-workers, patients, and hospital guests.
- Knowledgeable of Erickson's Developmental Model relative to infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups to provide and/or oversee orientation and training of staff who interact with patients in these age groups.
- Must be able to communicate orally, have manual dexterity to apply patient electrodes, as well as to operate equipment and a keyboard.
- Able to stand or walk for long periods of time, push heavy equipment, and possess visual acuity.
- This position may involve exposure to skin, eye, and mucous membranes with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
