Job Description

• Perform electrodiagnostic testing, including nocturnal polysomnography (NPSG), CPAP evaluations, NPSG scoring, and electroencephalograms (EEGs) when necessary.
• Clean and maintain department equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Communicate with physicians and hospital staff concerning tests or testing procedures performed in the Neurodiagnostic Department.

Requirements

• 1 year's previous training and experience in sleep medicine required.
• Must have an understanding of medical terminology and current EEG and sleep medicine procedures.
• Ability to react calmly and maintain composure in stressful situations and when dealing with co-workers, patients, and hospital guests.
• Knowledgeable of Erickson's Developmental Model relative to infants, children, adolescents, and all adult age groups to provide and/or oversee orientation and training of staff who interact with patients in these age groups.
• Must be able to communicate orally, have manual dexterity to apply patient electrodes, as well as to operate equipment and a keyboard.
• Able to stand or walk for long periods of time, push heavy equipment, and possess visual acuity.
• This position may involve exposure to skin, eye, and mucous membranes with blood or other potentially infectious materials.

• RPSGT - Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
