Locum CRNAs
One of our partners in Minnesota is seeking locum CRNAs to support its high-acuity tertiary anesthesia service. This opportunity offers day, swing, and optional night shifts, a supervised care team model (4:1), and consistent scheduling for providers able to commit to a minimum of two weeks per month.
Job Description
- Tertiary care anesthesia practice
- Supervised care team model (4:1)
- Minimum commitment: 36 hours/week and 2 weeks/month
- Required: Two consecutive weeks/month for the first 3 months
- Minnesota is not a compact state
- Skills checklist required at submission
- HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency
Schedule
- Shift lengths available: 8, 10, 12, and 16 hours
- Typical start times: 6:30 AM
- Example schedules:
- 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- 6:30 AM - 8:00 PM
- Coverage need: 36 hours/week, 2-3 weeks/month
- Orientation: 3 days required (4 hours non-billable per system record)
Call Details
- 12-hour Saturday beeper call (optional)
- 8- or 12-hour weeknight beeper call
- Occasional overnight shifts (weeknight/weekend) - optional
Clinical Details
- Patient population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics (12+)
- Practice setting: Hospital - Tertiary Facility
- Support staff:
- 24/7 Anesthesia Aide Department
- Care team model (4:1)
- Procedures: Specialized care
- CRNAs do NOT perform:
- Blocks
- Arterial lines
- Epidurals
- Spinals
- EMR: EPIC
Requirements
- NBCRNA certification required
- Active Minnesota RN & CRNA license required
- Minimum 1 year experience
- ACLS & BLS required
- Comfortable in a supervised tertiary anesthesia environment
Pay Ranking
Base provider pay ranks in the top 10-15% nationally for locum CRNAs (2026 data), with premium call and overtime pushing blended earnings higher during extended coverage weeks.
