- MD/DO, fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)
- Active MA license (or ability to obtain; will affect start date)
- Proficient in upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
- Outpatient GI/endoscopy experience required

Gastroenterology Physician

Position Overview A Massachusetts health system is seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens coverage in an on-going basis. This assignment focuses on reducing colonoscopy backlog and expanding procedural capacity. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in gastroenterology, efficient with both upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, and comfortable working across 3 close proximity outpatient locations. Assignment Highlights <ul><li>Competitive Pay: Package ranks in the Top 10% of GI locum roles nationally<li>Coverage Term: Anticipated 1-year assignment (with potential for extension)<li>Coverage Dates: Target start 11/1/2025<ul><li>Note: Credentialing typically requires 60-90 days; later start date may be necessary if new license is required</ul><li>Schedule: 5 days/week 8-hour shifts No call<ul><li>Note: Occasional overtime may occur depending on case volume and turnover</ul><li>Workload: 14-16 patients/procedures per day<li>Procedures: Upper endoscopy and colonoscopy<li>Interview: Virtual meeting with GI physician lead<li>Agency Note: HPA Healthcare is Joint Commission-certified.
