    Laboratory Technician

    HTI is hiring an Analytical Laboratory Technician for a brand-new multi-metal recycling facility in Augusta, GA. This is a Direct Hire Position paying up to $28.00 per hour plus a $1.50 per hour shift differential. Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

    Job Description

    • Operate and maintain XRF instruments, optimizing measurement precision
    • Perform acid-base titrations with attention to accurate endpoint detection
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with non-reproducible instrumental data
    • Conduct regular calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including weekly pipette validations
    • Ensure data integrity by verifying calibration standards and quality control compliance before supervisor review
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, calibrations, and troubleshooting efforts
    • Conduct laboratory tests according to standard operating procedures
    • Prepare and analyze samples using various techniques and instrumentation
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and laboratory protocols
    • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions for underperforming areas
    • Collaborate with team members at all levels to achieve laboratory process lead times and performance standards

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • 2+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting
    • Hands-on experience with X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrumentation
    • Knowledge of acid-base titration techniques and indicator usage
    • Proficiency in calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments (e.g., pipettes)
    • Strong understanding of data integrity protocols and quality control standards
    • Experience troubleshooting non-reproducible data and instrument issues
    • Laboratory experience in a non-ferrous metallurgical environment preferred
    • Familiarity with laboratory safety and regulatory compliance (FDA, EPA, OSHA)
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, business systems)
