    Job Description:

    • Expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and support of critically ill and injured patients, such as trauma victims and patients with multiple organ dysfunction
    • Proficient in technological procedures and devices used in intensive care settings
    • Capable of making excellent decisions under pressure
    • Knowledgeable in diagnosis, advance directives, end-of-life decisions, and compassionate counseling for patients and their families
    • Ability to lead and work with a team

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide time-restrained emergency medical care, life support, and organ support
    • Work swiftly to stabilize, diagnose, and perform life-saving procedures from the first point of contact
    • Administer appropriate medication to treat and stabilize patients' pain levels
    • Monitor patients' progress and create detailed reports for continuity of care
    • Demonstrate compassion with excellent communication skills
    • Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care
    • Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and adhere to the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients

    Requirements:

    • Current medical license in state of practice required
    • Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties
    • Five (5) plus years of residency training in more than one specialty
    • Excellent communication, compassion, and organizational skills
    • Strong clinical diagnostic skills
    • Capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to communicate information in layman terms to patients and/or their families
    • Knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, cardiology, neurology, various monitoring techniques, organ support and replacement systems, resuscitation, and other time-restrained medical techniques and procedures
