Lab Technician

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Lab Technician. This is a full-time contract position for 18 months located in New Haven, Connecticut.

Job Description

• Ensure that samples acquired during the conduct of a drug trial are processed, stored, and shipped in a manner that maintains specimen integrity.
• Review queried reports to QC sample processing and bring to the attention of the Operations Director any major protocol deviations and discrepancies.
• Support sample processing and verification of specimen compliance.
• Identify day-to-day requirements for study sample processing and ensure that the laboratory is prepared to support these tasks.
• Maintain proper inventory of items necessary to support the processing and storage of clinical trial samples.
• Oversee the requisitioning and transport of safety samples that are outsourced.
• Perform the duties and requirements of Laboratory Study Co-lead.
• Record daily schedule for the following day by printing Dashboard schedule, delivering copies to SPL and Safety Lab.
• Display a brief summary of next day's activities on the whiteboard by the dumbwaiter.
• Review daily Specimen Processing bench logs for compliance.
• Document discrepancies on the electronic copy and save to the TAT folder, including investigation comments.
• Enter send-out results as performed.

Requirements

• Strong background in sample and specimen processing (logging and reviewing for accuracy).
• Experience in QC and compliance.
• Inventory maintenance experience.

Preferred Skills

• Cerner Lab experience.

Pay Range and Benefits

• Pay Range: $18.00-$19.00 per hour. The pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
