Job Description

• Effectively performs imaging procedures independently
• Accurately performs veni-puncture, injects contrast using the pressure injector, and sends images through the Internet for interpretation
• Appropriately assists the radiologist during fluoroscopic and other special procedures requiring sterile technique
• Effectively performs procedures in Surgery, ER, ICU, and other nursing units using portable equipment
• Practices radiation safety techniques and marks and labels films correctly

Requirements

• ARRT registration
• Graduation from an accredited program for Radiologic Technology as Registry Eligible and ARRT registered within 18 months
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to germs, diseases, sharp objects, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of exposure to radiation. Hostile or combative patients may be encountered at any time. Exposure to various degrees of heat and cold may be encountered. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
