Location: Yukon, OK
Job Description:
- Responsible for all CT exams including imaging, interventional and computerized reconstruction
- Operate computed tomography equipment and perform a variety of technical procedures
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate
Responsibilities:
- Position and transfer patients in a timely manner, ensuring patient safety and physical requirements
- Develop film by automatic processing, utilizing knowledge of equipment
- Utilize surgical techniques as needed in performing sterile procedures
- Assist in equipment calibration and quality control, performing each test in a timely manner
- Administer radiographic contrast according to physician request and departmental policy
- Evaluate when radiologist consultation is needed for contrast media administration
- Complete initial IV set-up prep for CT Scan, including IV Prep, IV Insertion, and IV positioning
Work Environment:
- Reports to the CT Lead Technologist and/or Radiology Manager/Director
- Potential exposure to moveable tables, film bins, needles, chemical fumes, radiation, contagious diseases, and electrical equipment
- Occasional exposure to odors, blood, chemical irritation, constant interruptions, inclement weather, and traffic conditions
- May work erratic hours and overtime
Requirements:
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Computed Tomography certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required within 12 months of hire
- Current CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
