    Job Description

    • Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation.
    • Supervise staff assigned within specific areas or procedure rooms of the department.
    • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
    • Ensure and oversee proper staffing levels for the areas of assigned supervision and make adjustments as required for absenteeism, vacation, and workload variables.
    • Supervise the technical staff and provide input for annual performance evaluations of assigned staff.
    • Recommend promotions, disciplinary measures, and other administrative actions.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve errors in Radiology reports and patient exam orders, correcting orders when necessary.
    • Ensure the quality of the radiographs presented to the Radiologists meets the standards set forth by the Radiology Department.
    • Coordinate the repair of malfunctioning equipment and maintenance within the department.
    • Provide leadership in the area of patient and physician satisfaction.
    • With the approval of the Operations Manager and Chief Tech, provide input on new employee selection and assist in interviews when dealing with hires in their area of supervision.

    Requirements

    • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
    • 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
    • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
    • Must be able to speak, read, and write English neatly and legibly.
    • Requires constant use of good body mechanics; must be able to stand most of the day.
    • Employee must lift/carry/push 20 to 40 lbs. occasionally and assist patients of various weights frequently.
    • Must be able to work in a darkened room and distinguish colors.
    • Must wear a lead apron for up to 2 hours at a time.
