Pulmonologist

Join our dynamic team as a Pulmonologist with a 4-week rotating schedule. This position offers a beautiful seaside location popular with families and surfers, situated conveniently between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

Job Description

• 1 week outpatient pulmonary in one of our 2 clinics (5 days) with 6 doctors (2 work exclusively in pulmonary and 1 works exclusively in sleep) and 2 PAs
• 7 days inpatient pulmonary rounding at 2 hospitals (including a subacute unit)
• 7 days critical care (ICU or step down/DOU) with 12 doctors and 3 midlevels
• 7 days off
• Can pick up any available open shifts in critical care on top of their 7 shifts, and will be paid as a contractor at the going rate for critical care for those shifts
• Must be willing to take some night critical care shifts, DOU shifts, and also some critical care shifts at our smaller hospital
• Must be available 2 weekends a month and some holidays

Critical Care Shifts

• 200 bed hospital with 20 ICU/CCU beds and approximately 20 DOU beds
  • ICU shifts are either 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. or 8 p.m. - 8 a.m.
  • DOU shifts are 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. with 3 PAs covering 8 p.m. - 8 a.m.
  • Currently: $205/hr
• 100 bed hospital with 8 ICU beds
  • 24-hour shift
  • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. onsite
  • 4 p.m. - 8 a.m. on-call (must be within 30 minutes of facility)
• Trading shifts is easy online, and individual schedules can be subscribed to. We schedule in 6-month blocks (January-June done around October and July-December done around April).
• Hospital EHR: Cerner

Pulmonary Shifts

Outpatient:

• 2 nearby clinics
• Location of shifts is also in Amion, but patient scheduling is not
• 4 back office MAs, 3 front office MAs, and 1 Clinic Supervisor
• PFT full lab at one location with a dedicated MA, portable spirometry at the other
• EHR: NextGen

Inpatient:

• Rounding at both facilities listed above
• Separate schedule for rounding in the subacute unit co-located with the smaller facility (currently 3 days/week with the possibility of doubling with hospital rounding depending on census)
