Join our team as a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery APP, providing essential care in a dynamic inpatient setting. This position offers a full-time schedule with a focus on patient-centered care and collaboration with a dedicated support staff.

Job Description

• Start Date: January 2026
• End Date: July 2026 (possibly longer)
• Schedule:
  • Full Time
  • 4 Day weekend schedule
  • 24 hour call
• Specialty: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery APP
• EMR: EPIC
• Primarily Inpatient
• Call: 1-2 weekday calls/week and 1 in 3 weekends
• Support Staff: Surgeons, fellow APCs, nursing
• Responsibilities: CVSICU post-op patient resuscitation, nursing and patient calls from home, weekend inpatient rounding, responding to stat consults/change in clinical status, emergent OR cases
• Procedures: Chest Tube Placement, Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) Capable, Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, CVSICU, floor management, inpatient consults, outpatient office coverage
• Patient Encounters per Shift: 10-20
• 60 day credentialing

Requirements

• Certifications: ACLS/BLS
• Vaccination: Influenza vaccine may be declined if practitioner wears mask per health system policy
• Licensure: will take IMLC candidates, Standard licensing candidates, and Active License; will look at candidates who need a license
• No less than a 3 month commitment, preferably 6 months
• Providers must have experience with chest tube placement and be skilled in open and endoscopic vein harvest; prefer open radial artery harvest
• Must be available full time and able to take call
