Psychiatrist

Part-Time Adult Psychiatrist

Interborough Developmental and Consultation Center, a behavioral health Article 31 Clinic, is seeking an experienced psychiatrist to join our team. You will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the patient's progress.

Job Description

• Evaluation and assessment of patients.
• Medication evaluation.
• Ongoing pharmacologic treatment.
• Participation in incident review as needed.
• Participation in treatment planning.
• Participation in case conferences as needed.
• Diagnosing patients accurately.
• Developing comprehensive treatment plans and prescribing medication as needed.
• Regularly following up with the patient to check progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.
• Thoroughly documenting each patient's diagnosis, symptoms, medication, treatment effectiveness, etc.
• Providing patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder.
• Researching new developments in psychiatry and mental health.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine from an accredited medical school.
• Minimum 3 years psychiatric experience under supervision in a residency program from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.
• NYS Board of Psychiatry certification and license.
• Current DEA registration.
• Expert diagnostic skills.
• Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria.
• Familiarity with crisis assessment tools and techniques.
• Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Schedule

• Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.
• Expected hours: 30 per week.
• Schedule options include 4-hour shift, 8-hour shift, day shift, evening shift, night shift, and weekends as needed.

Education

• Doctorate (Required).

Experience

• Psychiatric care: 3 years (Preferred).

License/Certification

• DEA Certification (Required).
• Medical License (Preferred).
