Orthopedic Hand Surgeon

Jackson and Coker's valued client in Central Florida needs Orthopedic Hand Surgery call coverage support for a stretch later in 2025 while their surgeon is on vacation. This opportunity is for 24-hour ED call coverage, covering the ortho-hand surgery service line only (not covering general orthopedics).

Job Description

• 24-hour call coverage - no clinic or scheduled outpatient elective surgeries while covering
• Only covering ortho-hand surgery; general ortho will be covered by staffed surgeons
• Will work alongside General Orthopedic Surgeons while covering ortho-hand call; will not have any inpatient APP support specific to ortho-hand service line
• 100% adult patient population
• Volume varies, however, you can anticipate an average of 2-3 calls from the ED each day (1-2 new admissions/day) and an average of 4 add-ons each week
• Facility detail: not a designated trauma center, 375+ bed facility, central Florida location (about an hour from Orlando), EPIC EMR
• Will be required to complete a health system specific EPIC training prior to your start date

Requirements

• Active Florida license
• DEA required
• Seeking candidates that are Board Certified and fellowship trained/highly experienced in Orthopedic Hand surgery
