Pathology Physician Locum Tenens

Location: Texas

Job Description:

• Locum tenens position requiring 1-2 weeks per month
• Start date: February 2025
• Typically handle 20-30 cases per day depending on complexities
• Lab responsibilities include: gross and cover frozens first day, then read slides next day
• Perform own grossing/frozens
• Case mix includes biopsies (GI, cervix, embs, some skins from plastic surgeon), IR biopsies with adequacy assessments
• Handle big cases: malignant and benign colons, breast, thyroids
• Bone marrows handled by other pathologists if not comfortable
• Collaborative work with two other permanent pathologists
• Support from helpful and kind staff

Requirements:

• Texas state medical license OR IMLC LOQ (IMLC must be active at time of presentation)
• Board Certified/Eligible Pathologist
• Must have case logs from the past year for hospital privileges
• Temporary privileges available
