Adult Forensic Outpatient + Residential Treatment Locums
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area
Job Description:
- Starts ASAP and ongoing for 8-10 hours a month
- Adult forensic mostly outpatient coverage with possibly some residential treatment coverage
- Some patients have drug treatment needs and other co-occurring disorders and some transitional housing patients with severe mental illness
- Outpatient and residential treatment programs are located on the same campus
- Will allow a hybrid of onsite and remote tele psychiatry using Zoom
- Onsite services will be for initial evaluations and giving monthly neuroleptic medication injections
- Follow-ups can be done via remote tele psychiatry
- Two days per month for 4-5 hours per day - prefer one day to be Wednesdays, if possible
- If necessary, can be flexible regarding days/hours worked between 8A-5P, Monday through Friday
- No call
- One to two hours for initial evaluations, depending on the patient, and 30 minutes to one hour for medication follow-ups
- Required to give monthly neuroleptic medication injections to patients who need them
- No medical staff onsite, need a doctor willing to administer these medications for residents
- Electronic medical record system, EXYM, so you must be computer literate
- Takes just a few days for credentialing, which includes a background check (not live scan) and a TB test
- Board Certification is preferred, but not required
- Most patients are veterans plus a handful of non-veterans
- Prefer 3 to 6 month minimum assignments, but the longer the assignment, the better, up to one year, if possible
