    Physical Therapy Supervisor

    The SCI PT Supervisor manages the physical therapy team for the spinal cord injury program. They participate in hiring decisions, staff development, and the performance review process. They manage the day-to-day operations and work with interdisciplinary team members for program development. They participate in the Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program. Patient care responsibilities are commensurate with operational needs of the unit/service line.

    Our specialized SCI team includes physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, social workers, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals. We deliver individualized, patient- and family-centered care tailored to each patient's neurological level of injury, medical condition, and personal goals.

    Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

    Participates in the professional development of staff at all levels through supervision and mentorship.

    Collaborates with the Therapy Manager for the staff development and disciplinary processes.

    Participates in the interview processes for PTs and program positions for hiring and promotions.

    Orients and onboards new staff to the unit and program.

    Prepares performance appraisals, with direct manager, for therapists, assistants, and aides assigned to them.

    Ensures compliance with accreditation and certification standards as well as developing and implementing quality assurance and program evaluation systems.

    Supports the implementation and coordination of projects and process improvement of the Spinal Cord Program ensuring alignment with the program objectives.

    Attends official conferences and keeps the department informed of changes and updates.

    Develops and implements best practices for SCI rehabilitation.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Description

    • PT: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
    • 6 years of clinical experience with supervisory experience required.
    • Valid state license in Physical Therapy. BLS, CPR certification required via AHA.
