Medical Laboratory Technician III

Location: Johnson City Medical Center

Job Description:

• Perform a variety of moderate to high complexity testing to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease under professional direction.
• May have direct patient contact for procedures like phlebotomy and pediatric sweat chloride testing.
• Responsible for primary and secondary troubleshooting and repair of selected instrumentation.
• Conduct new and updated test validations; participate in new instrument/test start-up and training.
• Assist with clinical training of students and orientation of new employees.
• Support the Laboratory's Performance Improvement Programs.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in chemical, physical, biology, biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution including clinical laboratory training.
• Completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course or meet CLIA Standard for testing personnel qualification.
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, or comparable organization preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
