Join our team as a Cytotechnologist, where you will play a vital part in the patient care process by examining prepared slides with a microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities. This position offers a flexible day shift and is full-time, making you eligible for benefits.

Job Description

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process by examining prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities
• Report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review
• May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis
• Document the total number of slides examined or reviewed within each 24-hour period
• Document the number of hours spent examining slides daily
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
• NYS Lab License
• Certification as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
• Possess critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience

Salary Range

$38.00 to $50.00 per hour (depending on experience). Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
