    MLS Program Director

    The MLS Program Director is responsible for overseeing the organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of the MLS Education program. This role involves curriculum planning and development, directing program faculty and staff, and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the program.

    Job Description

    • Participate in budget preparation
    • Maintain NAACLS accreditation
    • Coordinate student learning activities such as lectures, tests, and grades
    • Uphold hospital and laboratory department policies and procedures
    • Provide training to employees and students
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards

    Requirements

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field
    • Bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related science discipline
    • ASCP-BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, or equivalent national certification/licensure for international applicants
    • Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
    • Minimum of three years of teaching experience
    • Knowledge of education methods, administration, NAACLS accreditation procedures, and certification processes
    • BLS certification within 30 days of employment
    • Completion of a NAACLS approved school of Medical Technology preferred
