Certified Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist, working under the direct supervision of the perioperative nurse, performs the duties of a scrub person. Prepares supplies for cases, sets up and maintains the sterile field, passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon, and readies used instruments for the cleaning and re-sterilization process. Provides in-service education and assists with projects. Position may require working at alternate sites within surgical services.

Job Description

• Prepare supplies for cases and maintain the sterile field.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
• Ready used instruments for cleaning and re-sterilization.
• Provide in-service education and assist with projects.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited surgical technology training program.
• Certification as a surgical technologist (CST or TS-C) or graduate of an accredited AA/AS degree program.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a surgical technologist in an acute multi-specialty environment, evidencing independent performance in a variety of surgical specialties.

Compensation

• $27.75 - $41.34 per hour.
