    Behavioral Health Provider

    Join our team as a Behavioral Health Provider, where you will provide a variety of ambulatory behavioral health services including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, case management, and psychotherapeutic intervention to individuals, families, groups, and/or Intensive Outpatient Programs. You will serve adults of all ages, adolescents, and children within the scope of your licensure and certification.

    Job Description

    • As a credentialed and privileged provider, in collaboration with physicians and other behavioral health providers, manage care for patients with behavioral health conditions including assessment, evaluation, education, and development of individualized plans of care including medication management. Review and establish diagnoses. Order and monitor diagnostic tests, and perform procedures as within the scope of practice.
    • Utilize the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems (ICD) for diagnostic references. Be familiar with and utilize a wide range of the latest evidence-based interventions and modalities.
    • Provide psychotherapy and counseling for individuals, families, groups, and/or Intensive Outpatient Programs. Utilize a wide range of intervention modalities that support positive mental health and enhance individual or family functioning. Provide services such as medication management, crisis intervention, brief therapy, individual, group, and family therapy. Interview members and evaluate their psychological and mental status. Refer members in need of immediate or urgent care to the appropriate level of services within the time frame established by policy. Collaborate with physicians, primary care staff, and other interdisciplinary clinical team members involved with assessment and care of patients. Follow program descriptions in your area of specialty as applicable.
    • Research, collect, and record data and information relating to identification and treatment of behavioral and interpersonal problems of patients. Formulate treatment plans for these conditions. Assist in establishing clinical best practices and guidelines for delivery of service to the population of patients served.
    • Document clinical assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and other relevant information in patient medical records according to regional and departmental guidelines. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and records in accordance with state and federal regulations and regional guidelines.
    • May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency, and licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and to direct the provision of care on the unit.
    • Provide direct patient care. Provide services that are within the scope of your license and in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements relevant to your clinical role performed.
    • Incorporate the KP Nursing Vision, Model, and Values throughout your nursing practice.

    Requirements

    • Minimum two (2) years experience in mental health managing patients on psychiatric medications.
    • Minimum two (2) years experience in mental health providing direct clinical services with children and/or adults, including people with serious/chronic mental illness.
    • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialty in community mental health, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or related field.
    • Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification OR Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.
    • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License with Prescriptive Authority (Hawaii).
    • Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire.
    • National Provider Identifier.
    • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

    Additional Requirements

    • Demonstrated knowledge of assessment using the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems (ICD), writing treatment plans including medication management for patients with behavioral health conditions.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in an integrated behavioral health model within a primary care setting.
    • Taxonomy code required at time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Demonstrated knowledge of documentation according to national accreditation guidelines.
