Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

Join our team at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation Select Medical in West Orange, NJ. This full-time position offers a new $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time roles only, available until February 15th, 2025.

Job Description

• Evaluate all assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs and physician direction.
• Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
• Ensure the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
• Serve as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.
• Evaluate assigned patients and establish appropriate treatment goals and treatment programs.
• Provide ongoing evaluation of patient's status and goals, modifying treatment programs for timely progression.
• Develop comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize outcomes and return to community activities.
• Coordinate treatment programs in conjunction with other clinical/therapeutic services and available community resources.
• Attend appropriate clinical meetings to facilitate coordination.
• Provide patient education, including the development of comprehensive and progressive home programs with instruction to the patient, family, and other caregivers as appropriate.
• Prepare for patient discharge, including ordering necessary equipment and recommendations for therapeutic services to ensure continuity of care.
• Evaluate patients in actual or simulated home, school, work, or community environments as necessary to facilitate a return to community activities, making recommendations for necessary adaptations or training.
• Identify and manage various levels of care necessary to ensure care plan delivery.
• Delegate and supervise the utilization of PTAs and support personnel to maximize patient outcomes and ensure effective utilization of services.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Certified BLS.
