Primary Care Physician

Join our dynamic team as a Primary Care Physician at Northeast Medical Group in Fairfield, CT. This position offers a flexible work schedule with a very light shared call, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

Job Description

• Evaluate patients and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Involve patients and their families in care and treatment decisions
• Create treatment plans and complete orders in patients' charts
• Collaborate on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians, and management
• Initiate appropriate specialty referrals
• Provide clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
• Ensure that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, and complete
• Work with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding, and CPT code assignment
• Achieve and maintain optimal patient access
• Provide interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
• Participate in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures, and management

Requirements

• Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
• Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration
• Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license
• BLS certification
• Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate or in the process of obtaining
