About the Facility
Leave the hazards of urban life behind and apply your skills to a wide scope of health care. The Uintah and Ouray Health Center is an ambulatory 40-hour facility staffed by physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, and dental, optometry, and psychology providers. They provide comprehensive public health services including general medical, surgical follow-up, pediatric, prenatal, and postpartum care. Dental, behavioral health, and optometry services are also available. Other clinical specialties are provided by visiting consultants and are scheduled periodically. Patients requiring more complex medical care are referred to the hospital or other contract facilities.
Job Description
- Interview and examine patients, review past medical history, requests and/or perform diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case.
- Provide definitive management and full spectrum OB/GYN outpatient practice within the limitations of the clinic.
- Conduct outpatient clinics making observations appropriate to the outpatient's underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms.
- Review the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan, and patient observations.
- Assure preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care.
- Work closely with allied health professionals to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of the patient's medical, psychological, and social problems.
- Evaluate and treat approximately 12-20 patients during an 8-hour workday.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures normally performed by OB/GYN such as performing minor surgery including but not limited to laceration repair and excision of skin lesions.
- Supervise other health care providers including physicians, physician's assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and medical clerks.
- Perform OB/GYN exams, long-term contraceptive management and triage, treatment of ambulatory patients, and refer emergency patients as appropriate.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of two years' experience as an OB/GYN.
- Board certification is preferred; however, board eligibility is also accepted.
- Basic Life Support certification is a requirement.
- Minimum education is a doctorate degree in Osteopathy or Allopathic medicine.
- The physician must have an active, unrestricted license as a physician in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
