This role offers the chance to work collaboratively with our health team members and under the direction of registered nurses. As a licensed practical nurse, you will provide nursing care in accordance with the nursing process and our standards of care and practices. Job Description

• Document patient information and changes in patient condition
• Alert the RN of changes needing reassessment
• Administer medication to patients
• Utilize appropriate interventions in psychiatric and medical emergencies
• Orient patients to treatment programs and monitor activity, encouraging participation
• Use facility-approved CPI techniques

Requirements

• Education & Licensure: Graduate from an accredited LPN program with an active license to practice in Illinois.
• Experience: A minimum of one (1) year as an LPN in psychiatric nursing is preferred, with six (6) months of experience in the specialized areas of psychiatry, but not required.
• Additional Skill Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of crisis intervention training, including restraint and seclusion policies, within 10 days of employment and before assisting in restraining procedures.
