Available Day, Evening & Night Shifts:
- 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
Available Double Weekend Shifts:
- Saturday & Sunday; 7:00 am - 11:30 pm
Job Description
- Direct Care Staff answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs
- Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care
- Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding
- Assists residents with range of motion exercises
- Provides for personal care and comfort
- Movement to wheelchair or activity areas
- Assists residents with ambulation for short distances in the facility
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed
- Provides direct and indirect resident care services
- Meets the communication needs of residents and families
- Communicates to nursing team changes in residents' clinical condition
- Must be able to implement the behavior intervention plan as written
- Must be able to implement behavior intervention techniques as written in the crisis interventions procedures
- Identifies, reports, and responds to extreme behavior, such as verbal aggression, biting, hitting, kicking, throwing items (food, objects, bodily fluids), self-inflicted injuries, property damage, etc., in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulations and Lake Drive policies and procedures
- Completes behavior reports per shift as needed
- Must complete maintenance work orders
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must maintain current certification as a CNA or DDCA
- Obtain and maintain MANDT certification
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities is preferred
- Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff
- Must be able to give verbal instructions to individuals and staff as well as write, type, interpret and document Program Plans/Active Treatment Goals and Objectives
- Must maintain patience and composure
