Job Description:
- Provide nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Assist with procedures, administer injections, and perform phlebotomy
- Take patient calls, clean and stock exam rooms, and coordinate supply levels
- Call in prescriptions and pre-certify patients' medical services
- Assist the physician with all other patient care as requested
Requirements:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Required Certifications/Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina; Current CPR certification
- Required Training: Basic first aid knowledge
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a positive attitude and harmonious relationships
- Communicate appropriately to all ages: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Respond to all patient and office staff requests and needs
- Perform duties as required in emergencies
Communication:
- Manage telephones, orders, messages, and phone triage
- Address patient concerns and treatment, and coordinate with staff on patient care and referrals
Scheduling:
- Handle referrals, appointments, surgeries, and hospital admissions
Medical Records:
- Maintain documentation, forms, and chart structures
- Manage chart filing, pulling, and image files
Lab:
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, and proficiency testing
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage medication administration and storage
- Conduct patient interviews and assist in minor procedures
- Implement physician orders and provide patient education
- Document clinical activities and maintain equipment
Professional Development:
- Participate in department orientation, annual training, and in-service education
Leadership:
- Provide support and guidance for clinical policies and procedures
