    Job Description:

    • Provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral
    • Works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
    • Follows all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards

    Requirements:

    • NBCOT certified upon hire, renewal optional
    • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (ASOT)
    • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State; must maintain active license in good standing
    • One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred
    • CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation; must remain current

    Professional Skills:

    • Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
    • Liaises with patients, families, support departments to plan for patient needs
    • Demonstrates good body mechanics at all times
    • Makes independent decisions when necessary
    • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines in post-acute care
    • Implements and interprets department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
    • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information
    • Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
    • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct

    Essential Functions:

    • Follows occupational treatment plans for patients under the direction of the supervising OT
    • Charts appropriately and timely
    • Utilizes therapy software accurately
    • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
    • Assists in the evacuation of patients
    • Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance
    • Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment
    • Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team
    • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, pushes, pulls, stoops, walks, reaches, and moves intermittently during working hours
    • Reads, writes, speaks, and understands the English language
