Job Description

• Assess the needs of residents with speech or language disorders and match their needs with services available.
• Meet with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluate, and maintain records of residents' progress.
• Report progress to management and family members and meet with them on a regular basis to discuss.
• Repeat evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
• Keep current with professional literature and attend seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills.

Requirements

• Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' speech.
• Skill in communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
• Master's degree in speech pathology required.
• State license as a speech pathologist required.
• A minimum of two years of experience working in the speech pathology field preferred.
