Medical Laboratory Technologist (PRN)

Job Description

• Obtain specimens from patients and perform established clinical tests.
• Follow procedures and interpret test results.
• Perform instrument and equipment maintenance.
• Review and follow requests for tests prescribed by the provider.
• Follow established procedures when performing Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Serology, Molecular, or newly developed procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality while working with patient results and provide service directly to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere.
• Follow procedures and precautions when involved in direct patient contact or when handling potentially infectious materials.
• Adhere to safety and infection control guidelines and policies for the hospital.

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree or higher from an accredited university in Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.
• Licenses/Certificates: Must be registered and have a Board of Certification (BOC), or test eligible, in the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT).
• Experience: One (1) year experience as a Generalist.
