Join our team at Martin County Hospital District (MCHD), a facility located in the heart of West Texas. MCHD was organized in 1967 and has been serving the community since then. The hospital, originally opened in 1949, was replaced with a state-of-the-art 18-bed facility in 2012 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.

Job Description

• Respond to out-of-hospital emergencies as a Healthcare Professional.
• Manage all Martin County 911 calls and transfers for MCHD.
• Maintain a calm professional demeanor in hostile, hazardous environments while prioritizing patient care.
• Function independently, once credentialed by the EMS Medical Director, providing exceptional pre-hospital clinical medicine based on MCHD EMS scope of care, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Utilize electronic communication including portable and mobile radios and electronic patient care records.
• Lead coworkers, first responders, and bystanders while managing medical and trauma patients once cleared for independent duty.
• Operate all EMS equipment and ensure that ambulances are stocked, clean, and ready to respond to all calls for service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Successfully completed EMS Orientation training.
• Must have a current Texas DSHS certification or license.
• Successful completion of AHA approved courses in BLS upon hire.
• Clear current Texas driver's license.
• 1 year of 911 experience preferred.
